"Vanuatu is a Pacific island adventure far beyond any notions of cruise-ship ports and flashy resorts. Deserted beaches, ancient culture, remote and rugged islands and world-class diving are just a small part of the magnetism of this scattered 80-plus island archipelago." -Lonely Planet
If you want a beach, summer, adventure and culture- holiday in one, this is it! The rough landscape is basically how it has been for ages. The locals earn their money with small-scale agriculture, fishing, and tourism. You can basically hike one of the 7 volcanos, swim in an amazing cenoté, dive and explore the coral-reef all in one day.
These islands are as magical as you can imagine. If you see the pictures you get this heart-warming-feeling of adventure and unrealistic beauty. But is is real.
Vanuatu is definitely a 'bucket-list' item. It takes a little time, effort and a healthy sense of adventure to truly explore Vanuatu's islands, but it's worth every bit of it.
How do i get there?
There are two international airports in Vanuatu, Efate`s Bauerfield International Airport and Santo`s Pekoa International Airport. Taking into account that there are a number of stops and a flight from Amsterdam takes about 27 hours. Between the islands of Vanuatu you are able to safely travel by boat. On the big islands you can take a taxi or rent a car.
For a holiday in Vanuatu, you need a passport that on arrival is valid for at least six months. Only if you go more that 3 months you need a Visa.
