A must-do when traveling tot the USA. Las Vegas! At least once in your life, you need to visit this legendary place. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! With my twin sister I visited this magical place for 4 days and we stayed in the Palazzo. (High rollers? uhh what do you mean? I will tell you more about this later in this blogpost). From our crazy 65 m2 hotelroom, to late night casino addictions to the Calvin Harris DJ party in the MGM in Hakassan... our time here was worth a fortune! Really! Literally a fortune ;).
LET'S TRAVEL TO VEGAS
It all begun with an online advertisement for a hotelroom in the Palazzo in Vegas. 50% off! Well, you don't have to tell us twice. We booked the hotel room, we booked our flight from Miami (we where in Miami at the time) to Vegas. YES finally! We got to feed our Casino addiction! No just kidding, we just wanted to see Vegas and of course try out the machines at least once.. or twice...
When arriving in Vegas, we were amazed with all the buildings, the temperature (DAMN IT IS SOOOO HOT!!) and of course the shitload of casino's. When unloading the suitcases, the doorman (how do you call him?) was so kind to bring our suitcases to our room. Great! When we arrived at our hotelroom, the man just didn't wat to go away and just stood there in the doorway. Little did we know he wanted a tip? NOTE: Everyone who helps you, wants a tip. So keep that in mind. Do all things yourself :P
HEALTHY FOOD PLEASE
We first tried to find a 'healthy' restaurant to eat. I can tell you, without it costing us a fortune, we found the MacDonalds. So far not so good. The healthy food is very expensive, or you really need to dine in style, which will also cost you a fortune. Btw, the cupcakes are really good, and really big as well.
So of course we wanted to see all the hotels. But you're in Vegas, and Vegas is HOT. So basically you run from hotel to hotel and just try to stay in the shadows. Even when it is clouded, the temperature was 41 degrees. We were melting. Not so fun if you are used to Dutch weather. One day, 25 hotels, 30 party promotors, 20 scammers and 150 pictures later, we were back at the hotel. Time to take some pictures from our crazy 65M2 apartment and badroom which looked like it just got ripped out of the Royal Palace.
With a view on the strip it was AMAZING. A kingsize bed, roomservice (which is of course really expensive but hey, your in Vegas!) and a huge TV, we were having the time of our lives!
TIME TO GET CASINO BROKE
Casino? Vegas? Vegas Casino! Time to become a millionaire! Well... 15 machines later, we lost a few ribs. Not so lucky! We thought it would be better to spend our money on food and clothing! So we got ourselves a taxi to the Vegas Outlet. We shopped a lot of nonsense and drove back to the hotel (well the taxidriver).
CALVIN HÁRIS OR CALVIN HARRIS?
Only my family will understand this joke.
In the evening we got ourselves ready for a DJ party in Hakassan which is based in the MGM hotel. You know the world-famous hotel were they beat each other up (boxing). DJ Calvin Harris was doing a DJ set. Well when we arrived we got ourselves a drink. Just a water and a Redbull. 'That it 15 dollars please'. EXCUSE ME?
When waiting for Calvin to show up, a few boys came up to talk with us. Offered us a drink (which we were not aloud to drink because it could be drugged- according a friend) and asked where we stayed. So we told them we stayed in the Palazzo. Their answer; "Are you guys High Rollers?" Wait whuuuut.. what does that mean. Well let me explain: it means we were staying in one of the most expensive hotels of Vegas. Of course we didn't tell them we had a 50% discount ;). We'll Calvin finally came on the stage and we decided to go home. To warm, to many people and the drinks are TO expensive.
WE WANT TO GO HOME
Really 4 days of Vegas is ENOUGH. When you're out of money it's no more fun haha! This city is crazy and there is always life, day and night. It really was a great experience, and I would love to go back. Don't go there to become a millionaire and don't go there to get married (everybody does that and not sure if you have a valid marriage then.)
Have you been to Vegas? Or are you planning to visit Vegas? Let me know in the comments!
